Kindle Shortcuts and Hidden Features
Written by Kindle Guru on May 1, 2008 – 11:12 pm -A hardware hacker by the name of Igor Skochinsky uncovered several cool hidden features and shortcuts that are currently undocumented. Of those are a minesweeper game and the most interesting one being location technology that uses the Kindle’s CDMA networking to pinpoint its position. Could these be built in so they can later release GPS-related products and features or is Amazon already monitoring your every move?
Probably the first of the two but regardless, it’s interesting to know. So here’s the additional hidden features and shortcuts according to Igor’s blog post. I wonder if he actually fried any Kindles in the process of discovering all these things. He did have to solder and wire up a custom connection in order to connect to the Kindle device! Read more »
